LESP System Improves Efficiency in San Joaquin Wells

May 14, 2026

Operators in California’s San Joaquin Basin were facing excessive energy consumption, frequent rod lift failures, and rising maintenance costs in low-production wells with challenging downhole conditions. Seeking a more efficient and reliable artificial lift solution, they partnered with Levare to improve operational performance and reduce downtime.

Levare deployed its Linear Electrical Submersible Pump (LESP) system with a Linear Permanent Magnet Motor (LPMM), eliminating rod components prone to wear while improving efficiency and reliability. The system reduced energy usage by up to 65%, increased run life, and enabled real-time monitoring of critical operating parameters through advanced Variable Speed Drive (VSD) technology.

In addition to lowering operating costs, the LESP system improved environmental performance by reducing CO₂ emissions, minimizing noise levels, and helping operators avoid costly workover interventions. The project highlights Levare’s ability to deliver innovative and adaptable artificial lift solutions for demanding production environments.
