Levare’s Rodless PMM-PCP System Extends Run Life in Colombian Mature Fields

Operators in Colombia’s Dina Terciarios, Loma Larga, and Flamencos fields were challenged by frequent rod failures, abrasive fluids, high solids production, and complex well geometries that led to costly interventions and reduced production reliability. Seeking a more dependable artificial lift solution, they partnered with Levare to improve run life, lower operating costs, and increase overall system performance.
Levare deployed its rodless Permanent Magnet Motor–Progressive Cavity Pump (PMM-PCP) system, featuring a high-torque Permanent Magnet Motor, enhanced Flex Shaft, and PTFE centralizers to eliminate conventional rod-related failures while improving reliability in demanding downhole environments. The solution extended run life by up to 274%, enabled the deepest PMM-PCP installation in Colombia at 8,760 ft, and expanded to more than 70 field installations across the country.
Beyond extending equipment life, the PMM-PCP system reduced energy consumption by 16%, eliminated deferred oil production losses, and lowered intervention costs by nearly $245,000 while improving long-term production reliability. The project demonstrates Levare’s ability to deliver innovative rodless artificial lift solutions that maximize efficiency and performance in challenging heavy oil and high-solids applications.

1. What was the rationale behind the rebrand to Levare International?
The company has grown and evolved, it has undergone restructuring to reach an exciting juncture where the international business is a distinct and separate division. Hence, restructuring, renaming and rebranding of the company to Levare International Limited will better align with the forward-thinking mindset of who we are today, and reflect the growing portfolio of artificial lift solutions offered to our global clients within the oil & gas producing industry and beyond.
2. Why did you choose the name Levare?
“Levare”, meaning ‘lift’ in Latin, embodies the Company’s strategic blueprint for growth, the Company’s vision of natural resource inclusion, and its commitment to uplifting its employees, customers and other stakeholders to a culture of innovation, investment and diversification.
3. What differentiates Levare International from its competitors? And, has the rebrand changed that in any way?
As a client-focused organization with an engineering mindset, we listen to our clients and respond to their changing needs within the technically challenged landscape they operate. 4. What changes will your existing customers see? For example, new name, new logo, but other than that…business as usual?
Our customers will see business as usual. While they will see a new name, new logo, new website, there will be zero contractual changes to how we do business with our customers. The product quality and customer satisfaction, as well as the values of transparency, versatility, inclusion and reliability will remain intact, but with an intentional approach on trust and transformation.
5. What benefit(s) will the new Monterrey, Mexico manufacturing facility provide your customers?
The new facility allows Levare to have a secure and independent supply chain as we expand our business into the green Geothermal sector, as well as the Mining and Industrial markets.
6. As a thought leader in the industry, how is Levare investing in product development, as well as keeping an eye on sustainability?
As the industry’s leader in ESP permanent magnet motors, our vision is to expand this technology that offers lower OPEX and reduced carbon emissions further into the O&G market and expand its value into the Geothermal, Mining and Municipal markets.
