Levare HPS Technology Selected for Utah FORGE Geothermal Project

July 30, 2026

Levare has supplied its Horizontal Pumping System (HPS) technology for the Utah FORGE (Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy) project, a U.S. Department of Energy-funded field laboratory focused on advancing Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS).

Located near Milford, Utah, Utah FORGE serves as a testing ground for next-generation geothermal technologies. Levare's HPS units provide the high-pressure fluid injection required for reservoir pressure transient testing, helping researchers develop and validate engineered geothermal reservoirs.

The project marks a significant expansion of Levare's HPS technology into the renewable energy sector, demonstrating the adaptability of proven fluid-handling solutions beyond traditional oil and gas applications.

“Being selected to support the Utah FORGE project is a significant milestone for our HPS product line. It demonstrates the versatility and reliability of our technology in one of the most demanding geothermal applications worldwide. We believe projects like Utah FORGE will play a pivotal role in expanding the use of EGS, and we are proud to contribute equipment that helps make that vision a reality.”

- Ivan Patino, director of industrials and HPS at Levare

Levare partnered with Rhino Pumps, which provided application engineering, system sizing, and field support for the project, alongside the Utah FORGE engineers to ensure the system met the application’s technical requirements.

“Utah FORGE is a landmark project here in Utah, and being a pump partner on the project is a point of real pride for our team. Levare’s HPS technology was the right fit for a demanding application, and we’re glad to help advance next-generation geothermal energy.”

- Carl Haehl, owner and CEO of Rhino Pumps

The collaboration highlights the growing role of advanced pumping technologies and strong industry partnerships in supporting emerging geothermal energy development.

By delivering reliable, high-pressure injection capabilities, Levare’s HPS technology supports the testing and commercialization of EGS, advancing a sustainable, scalable source of renewable energy.

“The knowledge gained through this project will help accelerate geothermal adoption and further establish high-efficiency pumping systems as a key component of future renewable energy infrastructure.”
